I buy the no added sugar cordial and drink pints and pints of it, but is it really full of crap and sugars and bad for you?
Trying to be healthier and struggle to drink enough plain water.

I think you know the answer Smile

It's not great, sugar is better than sweetener in my opinion. Try to wean yourself off maybe. Advice is 2 litres of water a day which isn't that much. I have maybe a glass when it's hot as extra drink on top of water, or herbal tea in winter.

I drank litres of the stuff as a kid (as did everyone I knew, nobody clutched their pearls over this stuff like they do nowadays) and if it’s hatmed me I can’t imagine how. Artificial sweeteners are just chemicals. No better or worse than many naturally occurring chemicals and other artificial chemicals we consume without much thought.

If you think you ought to wean yourself off cordial though, gradually dilute it more and more until you only have a dash of it or are having plain water.

Its absolutely fine and won’t harm you.

I drink rocks squash (I can't have sweetener as I react to it, and it's in every bloody drink now!) it is organic and I figure it's better having that than not drinking enough water? At at least it doesn't have anything artificial in it.

You don’t need to drink “pints and pints” of anything.

FiremanKing · 17/05/2019 11:50

It citric acid in drinks that rots your teeth.

No. Cyanide is really bad for you, cordial isn’t. Although on mumsnet, there isn’t much difference apparently.
