I left my previous admin term time workplace for another term time job 10 mins drive from home. Similar hours/days. I loved my old job and was there for 5 yrs. i was sad to leave but the new job wasn’t that different but the locality helped.

New job is great, i love it and great workmates. I dont socialise with colleagues, nor did i in the other one.

But i dont feel settled there. There is something in my head which i cant explain that tells me im not settled. I didn’t get this feeling at my last job not the one before that and i was there for 17 yrs.

Im not looking to leave ATM as i have school age kids but they one day i need more hours.

So do you feel settled and how long have you been working there?

I’ve been working at my current job 10 years, I’ve been settled since about 6 months in, they offered me more responsibility and I was one of the few competent ones aswell as being trained by Woolworths, as they had one of the most prestigious training systems back then. I’ve been through 6 managers and now have an old manager back who I get on great with. One of the few he can rely on despite being part time. I get Every weekend off and I can say no with out them getting pissed off as they know if I can do it I will, I’ve built up a great rapour and have an outstanding customer service record with 0 complaints, and over 10 emails of praise.
Sorry if I’m tooting my own horn, but I’m quite cushty and I know I’m good at retail 😊

I’ve been in my job for a year and will never feel settled because the job isn’t a good fit for me. I’m meeting expectations in my performance reviews but am basically struggling on until the day comes when I can’t any longer.

Yes I’m settled. NHS and we’re all gelled together and run a smooth operation. We have “in” jokes, even the lazy arses are ok and nice to talk to; they give us the drama. The younger ones look up to me. We all have a good laugh. I’ve applied for a new job but I’ll still carry on here part time a few hours a week because I love the place and don’t want to leave. I’ve been here 3 years.

I really enjoy my job ( been there 18 months) & I’d say I feel settled but would change some things. The main one is how late our rotas come out. Sometimes it’s on the Sunday for the week ahead! Luckily, my hours don’t vary much but if there are any changes it’s really frustrating. And communication generally can be a bit rubbish. There don’t tend to be official announcements eg if someone leaves.

Several months in and not settled. Hoping it will improve and semi-optimistic that it will! Was planning on being here 5-10 years before I started...we'll see Smile

Been in my job just over a year. Started as a temp (I thought, if I don't like it, I can leave) so just took it a week at a time. When permanent positions became available I realised I wanted to stay. I was taken on permanently in November last year. Looking back, I felt settled after about 4 months.
