Paypal help - I can't withdraw money

Can anyone please help me with getting money from Paypal into my bank account?

I won £50 which was paid into my PP account, I tried going to the wallet and clicking withdraw and it asked me to add my bank account but won't let me, I've read elsewhere that you can't add a Barclays account.

Then somehow I managed to pay myself £50 or so I thought but instead I'd added another bloody £50 from my bank and so have a £50 credit in there too.

I've tried emailing them but all they do is send an automated reply about clicking the wallet and withdrawing etc but it doesn't work.

Surely they have my bank account details as I've been using it for purchases for years.

Is your bank account verified with them?

I'm sure I did that years ago when I first set it up, I remember waiting for a 1p deposit and going into the branch to check because it was the days before internet banking, I'm presuming it was when i set up ebay and PayPal.

Looking at my "funding sources" though there's only my bank cards on there, I can't add an account though to even get to the verify stage because after I've entered the sort code and account number it tells me there's a problem and to try again, I've been trying for 3 days now.

Have you called PayPal? They're usually pretty good on the phone.

Took me a while to realise but I couldn't because my PayPal was in my maiden name and my bank account in my married name. I've still not managed to successfully change my name on PayPal but that's a whole other story

Barclays and PayPal are fine. I move money between my accounts incl Barclays via PayPal and it's all been fine. It's prob cause you are a fairly new user?

I'm going to call them in the morning but thought I'd ask here in case I was missing something blindingly obvious.

Funny you should mention maiden name help mine is still in maiden name too, I hadn't changed it as it's never been a problem to pay or when I update my card details. I don't know how they'd know because it won't even accept my sort code and acc no, I haven't been asked for my surname.

I've been a user as long as I can remember, well over 15 years, always paid with the same bank account but this is the first time I've tried to withdraw

Mine wouldn’t accept my bank - it’s the bank that refuses to deal with them I think

I had to pay my sister and then she returned the money

May be weird question but are you using internet explorer switch to Firefox or chrome or another provider then try. I’ve found using explorer I can’t do loads of things and keep getting that error.

Also are the funds cleared and sitting in your wallet? Some funds take time to clear before you can sweep them into your bank account.

I spoke to them and he set my account up for me in about 30 seconds, my maiden name was never questioned.
I've now withdrawn it to my bank, I've got no idea why the website wouldn't let me set it up.

The £50 that I added to my credit account will take up to 5 working days but it's in progress so I should have that back next week.
