Pregnancy test 17 weeks

Hi I'm 17 weeks pregnant and I was having a clear out and I had one pregnancy test left so I decided to use it and thought I would see a dark like however that was not the case and I only got a faint positive I had a scan last week because I have type one diabetes and so I'm under a close watch but everything was fine with the baby so I would have expected the test to be darker and not a faint positive has anybody had this experience or who's what may have caused this I'm making myself worry now

Home pregnancy tests aren't really designed to be used when you're that far along - there's a phenomenon called the hook effect that makes them go fainter when your HCG reaches a certain level. It's not an indication of problems with your pregnancy.
