Mine..

Four fish fingers and two hash browns baked close together on a large piece of foil. I don't like them crispy for this sandwich so ten minutes before the end I fold the foil in to a parcel and add a slosh of boiled water from the kettle. Close it up and steam to deliciousness.

Two slices of Warburtons Super Toastie well buttered.

Spread the hash browns onto the slice and season. Cover with thin slices of mature cheddar and then the fish fingers. Drizzle in your own favourite sweet chilli sauce.

If you try it I hope you enjoy it, I just did.

For the most perfect Fish Finger Butty, the fish fingers need to be grilled under a gas grill and then smooshed together with ketchup no butter in thick hand sliced white crusty bloomer bread from a proper bakery.

Soft white bread, thick butter, three grilled fish fingers, salt and vinegar.

OP gherkins are fab on it

Chunky taste the difference fish fingers, homemade tartare sauce with gherkins chopped into it, rocket, and... wait for it... Naan bread. You're welcome.

Actually, I had quite a fancy one in a restaurant with gherkins and tartare sauce on brioche which was nice.

Not as nice as homemade with cheapo white bread though.

Thick white bread, buttered, thin layer of hot mashed potato, breaded fish fingers that are cooked until crispy, layer of beans, ketchup, more buttered bread.

Food of the gods.

4 fish fingers, granary bread and this sauce: 4tbsp mayo, 2tbsp grain mustard and 1tbsp honey. (I don't put all that sauce on one sandwich!)

White bread, butter or margarine, 4 fish fingers, ketchup. Perfect
