There's so many to choose from but I'd like to know the sure fire hits in your house!

Thanks

Banana bread. And birthday cake!

I like her MIL's Madeira Cake. Love her recipes.

The birthday cake looks amazing, definitely going to be making that one. And the peanut butter squares and dream bars.

Pizza casareccia
The polenta cake

There's a rosemary sugar cake. I hate cake. So I made this for a gift for other people. I didn't give it to them in the end because it was too delicious.Blush

The chocolate Brownies and the lemon iced gingerbread - my copy falls open at those!

bellinisurge · 15/05/2019 18:49

Is this the one with the bagel recipe? As an old school 1970s eater of bagels - dad used to go on hunting/gathering expeditions for real ones - this was the closest I got to those that aren't from a proper deli.

Playmobilpeacock · 15/05/2019 18:49

The iced gingerbread is incredible. Just make sure you have people to feed it to, unless you fancy eating a whole batch in one sitting Blush

megletthesecond · 15/05/2019 18:51

Molten chocolate babycakes.
Not half as tricky as you think, you'll need to buy the little tins though. And you don't need super fancy cooking choc, basic ingredients are fine.

They make shop bought choc puds taste like shite.

The Christmas pavlova is great using different fruit and any time of year. Her Christmas cake is bang on too.

JellyTeapot · 15/05/2019 18:56

Chocolate brownies, they're the best I've ever had

NannyR · 15/05/2019 18:59

The brownie recipe is very good. The actual recipe makes loads but it halves/thirds successfully. I usually make up the full recipe and freeze them in batches.

Abibranning · 15/05/2019 19:00

Oh I love the birthday cake just yummy

ConstanzaAndSalieri · 15/05/2019 19:01

A friend of mine is trying to cook her way through the book using a #projectdomesticgoddess thing on Instagram. Inspired I made the chocolate stacked pavlova (the chocolate Creme patissiere is possibly the most delicious thing I have ever made) and the veggie and meaty pizza rusticas at the weekend.

However I have to say I was meh at the birthday cake recipe.

The banana bread and dark chocolate cake is amazing.

CoraPirbright · 15/05/2019 19:01

Rosemary loaf cake. Sounds a bit weird, tastes amazing!!

Leakinglikeacolander · 15/05/2019 19:06

Gingerbread

IwantedtobeEmmaPeel · 15/05/2019 19:53

Thanks to you Op I have just ordered this book from Ebay. I somehow never got round to buying any of Nigella's recipe books, I think I thought she was a bit frothy at the time this was published, but on the strength of this thread I have decided it is time I gave the lucious Ms Lawson the benefit of the doubt.

Have also ordered an old copy of How to Eat from ebay as well as it has rave reviews.

I am supposed to be reducing my book collection, but as I love books as much as I love baking and eating, am pretty much doomed.

ProfessorofPerspective · 15/05/2019 20:16

I'm ashamed to say I have this and though I love baking and cooking generally, and run a little culinary sideline, I have never really got into Nigella, so to speak. I shall go and get it down off the shelf now!

losenotloose · 15/05/2019 20:58

Definitely going to be making the gingerbread!
