Hey guys, I’m 11 weeks pregnant and I have my scan next weeks.. I’m so worried about it but at the same time I’m excited. I’m just so worried there won’t be a heartbeat or they won’t be able to find my baby, I will be so heartbroken if there isn’t. I’m feeling this way because my sister in law had a miscarriage at 13 weeks and now I’m petrified I’m going to lose my baby too. Please can any give me any advice?

I think the way your feeling is pretty normal. Because you can’t see much change in your body or feel much (other than probably generally exhausted and crappy) it can make you wonder if there’s really a baby in there. Being aware that your SIL miscarried around this stage is bound to make you more anxious.

It’s easy to say try not to worry etc etc because you feel what you feel but hopefully your scan will reassure you. My DD is a Mum now but I can still vividly remember feeling sure that when I had my 12 week scan there’d be no baby (that I’d imagined it or something) or there’d be no heartbeat. I hope you will soon have the reassurance you need.

I know how you feel op, I walked in to my scan, said hi and burst into tears! Blush sounds silly, but I had been so so anxious about a missed miscarriage that I couldn't help it! The poor woman! Grin
All was well though.
Not really much advise, but just try and stay positive, it's all you can do.
Good luck with it all!

I think this feeling is normal! I was the same.

Kept seeing to my mum and partner that I can't imagine there being a baby in there. He's now 2 weeks old Smile

Please don't worry and try to enjoy the moment. xx

They couldn't find a heartbeat? Or didn't put it on speaker for you?

Jessie1999 · 09/06/2019 21:50

They said everything was oky and baby is how is should be but there was no sound of the heartbeat

You don’t get to hear the heartbeat at the 12 week scan in any trust I know, nor usually at the 20 week. Your midwife may offer to try at 16 weeks, but it can be a bit early then.

We didn't hear a heartbeat either, i don't know anyone who has at a scan. Only at a later midwife appointment with the doppler.

That's great news on baby.
