I’m very new to politics, have always ignored it in the past but have started to take more interest now. It’s all so confusing though!
What exactly are the eu elections?

Elections for the EU Assembly, which sits in Brussels and Strasbourg, (but not at the same time.)

Giant constituencies: Scotland, Wales, NI and the English regions.

If the UK really is leaving the EU, the UK MEPs will not take their seats in July, and so it's just a protest vote. If we're staying, they'll be there for the next four years. (or possibly not.)

You do not vote for a person but a party. The party has a list of candidates. If they get enough votes, the name at the top of the list is elected. If they get more, the second, third etc may also get in.
