What does this mean in a recipe?

Add 250ml (500ml) of water

Why the 500ml? Surely I should be adding 250ml? Am I missing something obvious? Probably.

Can you give the whole recipe, does it have an option for an ingredient that needs the extra water, do other ingredients have doubles too.

It could, of course, be an error

Is it a recipe that does different size dishes? Can you use dried something vs not dried and water will depend on that? Does it have metric /imperial and it's a mistake?

Probably easier to give an answer if you tell us what the recipe isGrin

It's a Gousto recipe so the doubling thing explains it. Thank you all.

What's a guosto recipe?

BrieAndChilli · 15/05/2019 12:17

Gousto is like hello fresh where they deliver all the ingredients to you in a box for meals

Isthisafreename · 15/05/2019 12:18

Never heard of hello fresh either, but sounds interesting Smile

It's company you buy meals from, they send most of the ingredients and a card recipe for you to make it from.

I would say you add the liquid in two parts.

Was going to ask if it was a Gousto recipe. Yes, they sell boxes to feed either 2 or 4 so the recipes are printed to deal with both.
