Things to do on holy island?

We are going to holy island tomorrow with our 1.5year old DS.
We are going on public transport so going to be there 10am-5pm what would you recommend to do whilst there?
We've got a picnic planned and are English heritage members so will be going to the priory?

Ooh I haven’t been there for about ten years but it’s lovely, the castle is good and the beaches. It’s beautiful just to walk around it

There isn't anything else to do. Play on the beach maybe. Pray for sunshine!

Weather forecasts 18c so fingers crossed for the weather. Presume there is cafes and ice cream shops etc?

There’s not a huge amount there. But there is a shop selling Lindisfarne Meade. I recommend it...

A good 10 years since I was there but there was a fantastic museum/heritage centre that didnt charge much to get in (back then) and had a good couple or more hours entertainment, including stuff for kids. If weather is good enjoy the quiet hours (and quiet pubs) of high tide when all the car drivers have left.

Great cafes, bar meals, ice cream shops and fudge shop last time I was there. Lovely walks around behind the castle to the old lime kilns, and plenty to see and do in the centre near the priory. It's so quiet and peaceful, especially if you find the beaches and dunes before you get to the village. Enjoy!

Wasthere for a dowsing weekend two years ago.
Weather was good. Lots of roaming around with our L rods trying to look like we know what we are doing 😂
We are health Dowsers
So if it’s sunny, some lovely walks, nice cafes, church and a nice walled garden, interesting beach huts at the harbour
It’s lovely

Check the time of the tide!

As well as the priory the church is interesting.

There are lots of cafes.

I'd struggle to spend 7 hours there if the weather was crap.

If you're in that area for a few days take a boat out to the Farne Islands to see the puffins. My DC loved doing that.

Another recommendation for the fudge shop, the fudge is amazing! There are a couple of cafes and shops, the priory, the beaches, you may see seals. It's lovely.

Watching with interest as we're heading there in August. We're going by boat so arriving at high tide.

I got engaged there 💕💕
