It’s 2.05 pm, do I have to accept that I am not going to be asked for interview?

Sad

The deadline for applications was yesterday, the interviews are tomorrow.

Which means today is their day for looking at all applications if they haven’t done so already, and calling people to interview.

I haven’t heard anything so should probably assume I won’t now? Bit gutted Sad.

Can you call them and enquire.

purplecorkheart · 14/05/2019 14:09

I would be expecting to here something around 5pm tbh.

Why2 · 14/05/2019 14:10

I don’t want to seem too pushy by calling? Would it be pushy?

5.00 pm would be good. Another 3 hours’ hope!

DH applied for a job which said interviews were on 16 April.
About the 20th April, they invited him for an interview on the 30th. Still awaiting a response. They said 2 weeks to hear anything, so hopefully soon!

Never be afraid to contact them. And if they say that you weren't shortlisted it also gives you an opportunity to open up the conversation about the whys? You can ask for feedback as to why you weren't shortlisted, is there anything they could suggest that you could use for the next application, please could they keep your details on file for future reference.
It never seems too pushy unless you call countless times. One call just shows that you're interested!
I would give them until 4 as they may finish at 5.
Good luck and fingers are crossed for you.

Pinotjo · 14/05/2019 14:31

Ring them, you'll look keen not pushy, good luck

Tingface · 14/05/2019 14:36

What a ridiculous timeline! How can anyone get time off with that little notice?
Hope you get it OP.

Why2 · 14/05/2019 14:42

Thanks. I think it’s looking unlikely now.

Yes, a weird timeline.

Definitely give them a call :) good luck! Hopefully they're still just deliberating over who to interview...

ImMeantToBeWorking · 14/05/2019 16:17

I would always chase up an online application with a phone call. You look interested not pushy, just say you wanted to know if they got your application as you are really interested in the position.

It does not give them much time too look and if they got loads of applications and they start at the top they will only get so far down the pile before the interview slots are all filled up!!

Why2 · 14/05/2019 18:06

Thanks - it turns out that in fact the interviews are not tomorrow and the TES advert was wrong Confused.

Thank goodness I did phone (thanks for the advice Smile) as I would have assumed that I was out of the running.
