Disney world advice please

Hi

I'm after a bit of advice from those who have been please.

We have saved up and are going to Disney world in October. DD's 4 & 12

We have 10 days there.

We are torn between going full on parks for most of it or splitting it with a bit of beach/relax time.

Our thoughts are either 5 days Disney and 5 in Naples...7 & 3 day split or just suck it up and do the full 10 with a couple of break days.

I don't want regrets as we probably won't be able to do this again.

Any advice gratefully received

Thanks

I would definitely split the trip & do both parks & beach. I’d do the parks first, then beach at the end of the trip primarily because the parks are exhausting..lots of walking, lots to see & do & kids will no doubt be overstimulated. The beach at the end of the trip will hopefully relax you all & you’ll get a lovely suntan before heading home. Have fun!Smile

Personally I'd do the 10 days in Florida. There's so much to see and I don't think 10 days is enough for a split site holiday

I'd do 10 days Orlando but plan rest days by the pool. Or even the water parks are way more relaxing than park days. There's so much to do and see in the parks, including fireworks and the Halloween party in the evenings.

I don't think 10 days is enough to split the holiday - you can have rest days around the pool at your hotel/villa. 14 days isn't often enough for me and I'd like to do 3 weeks ideally.

You could go to Clearwater or Daytona for the day for some beach time too?

I had a friend who went to Naples and she said it was the most boring place they'd ever been and very much a place for retired people.

Are you staying on site?

We did 10 days staying on site. We would do the parks early till about 2pm then go back to the room and spend the afternoon at the pool before going back to the parks for dinner and some more rides. Seemed a good balance.

Where are you planning on staying? Villa or hotel?

We have been a few times and most recent trip my niece was 8 and hated most of the rides! She loved the pool at the villa and kept asking to go back there.

First time we went we stayed at a Disney hotel and had a couple of days by the pool.

We tend to go to th parks early and leave around lunchtime. It’s enough for us.

Long time regular Disney visitor here who has taken children at all ages. As this is likely to be your only trip to Florida I would say base yourself in Orlando or the whole 10 days, is so much to see and do. Whilst the beaches are nice, you can get to a beach easily and cheaper at another time.

WHilst you are there pace yourselves, the theme parks are huge, at 4 we still used a cheap umbrella buggy for DC.

Have you visited thedibb.co.uk for loads of advice?
