Baby birds in my attic

I've just discovered that I've got a nest of baby birds in my attic.... it was the bloody racket they were making that I found them there.

I'm not really a fan of birds as their flappy wings scare me a bit, and normally having them in the attic wouldn't bother me but I've sold my house and have to be out in just over 2 weeks and need to get up there to clear it out.
I've googled about nests and it says it's illegal to disturb nests with chicks so how am I going to clear my attic.
Anytime we've gone anywhere near getting up there, the adult birds come flapping about.
Any idea how long chicks stay in a nest for or ideas of what I can do?

I know they grow up quite quickly, maybe they will fledge and leave before you need to

What kind of birds are they? Sparrows and the like leave the nest fairly quickly, but pigeons not so fast. Can you actually get to your stuff without disturbing the nest? If so, I think I’d be tempted to brave the flapping wings and chuck everything down as quick as possible then leave them to it!

My dm thinks they're starlings even though she's not actually laid eyes on them Confused definitely not pigeons though.
We can get to most of our stuff I think, but the stuff beside the nest we'll maybe need to leave until the last minute and hopefully they'll be gone by that time

Quite likely to be starlings as they do tend to like lofts etc. They fledge at about 3 weeks but may return to the nest for another couple of weeks after that. They are noisy little buggers though! I’ve got babies coming into my garden at the minute with their parents and the racket they make is deafening!

I can't believe how noisy they are... there sounds as if there's hunners of them up there.... and it goes on all day.
I think going up in the attic with the birds is the perfect job for ds.. he's got to earn his keep somehow Grin
