O2 yearly upgrade

Warning ⚠️ this is boring!!

I received an email saying in a few days I can hand in my current phone and upgrade

It's actually confusing my quite a lot and I would really appreciate anyone ho isn't as stupid as me helping me decipher it

If I don't upgrade can I reduce my plan?

If I do upgrade does it lengthen my contract?

I'm not too fussed about a new phone but if I can get one and it be the same price a month and not lengthen the contract then I may as well

But if there's an option to reduce my plan if I keep this phone then I'd rather do that!

I feel like they purposely make it confusing and I'd rather not have to ring them to get it explained if I can help it!

When you have paid off your current device plan then your bill will reduce to pay for airtime only. If you get a new device you will pay for that for however long the plan you select is.

You really need to put your questions to O2 as no-one on here can tell you what is in your contract or what offers you are currently entitled to.

Would it be easier to ask face to face in a shop, rather than on the phone?

However, I would be surprised if the upgrade offer isn't being made with the intention of getting you to pay more money to O2.

I'm sure there's lots of people on here who have the same contract and have/haven't done it before for various reasons, it's basically a standard in phone contracts now, I was merely hoping someone could explain it to me simply so I didn't need to go into or phone o2, who aren't going to be the most impartial of people if I am asking if it's worth doing or not!

With o2 you pay some money for the phone and some for the contract . If you have paid off the phone it will reduce to the contract cost only .

What Wendz86 says . Getting a new phone will mean you signing up to a new contract .
