Pathologists? Calprotectin test and Period

Doctor said do Calprotectin stool sample. No rush on it.
Was going to take in this morning. I came on yesterday. I have very heavy periods.
Am I best waiting until after period to do stool sample for calprotectin? Don't want results skewed.

You're thinking of post mortem Pathologists.

Calprotectin measures a specific protein biomarker that’s produced by inflammation in the gut. It shouldn’t be affected by you being on your period as it’s not measuring blood, so not going to be cross contaminated. But I’m not a Dr, or a pathologist, so if you are worried and it’s not urgent then maybe wait.

I just wasn't sure if Period blood had the same protein. Google took me nowhere and the docs receptionists aren't sure!
