Tactical voting in Euro election - Scotland

If you are in Scotland and a Remainer, how are you voting?

It's not who I'd usually vote for but I'm thinking either SNP or Change. I think Change may have a better national impact. Any thoughts?

Has to be SNP - Change won't make much of a mark in Scotland.

Disclaimer - I'm a member of a party that isn't SNP but not convinced me that they will push back against Brexit.

SNP only ones to get us out of this mess by Westminster Angry

Hard to see a tactical argument that doesn’t arrive at SNP as the answer.

Yup, SNP the way to go this time for Remainers.

Lessstressedhemum · 12/05/2019 23:23

SNP. They will make the biggest impact. I vote SNP anyway, but, even if I didn't, I would this time. I don't think Change will make any kind of impact at all up here.

Blankiefan · 13/05/2019 06:36

I'm concerned that an SNP vote is interpreted as support for Ref2. Or do you think that's coming regardless?

I'm a remainer, no voter and I'm voting SNP. Indyref2 is coming anyway. Green is an independence party too and the lib Dems and change won't make much impact up here.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 13/05/2019 08:07

I'm torn about this. I don't want to vote for the SNP as they'll take a big vote as a vote for Scottish independence. I'm hoping even if the vote is split, a large total in favour of pro-EU parties will get the message across but I'm thinking Lib Dem at the moment (for the first and possibly only time in my life.)

WickedGoodDoge · 13/05/2019 08:42

I’ve never voted SNP in my life, but will be this time.

lurkingfromhome · 13/05/2019 09:00

I'm glad someone posted this thread as DH and I have been discussing how best to vote, given that the Euro elections are PR.

Neither of us wants independence (although actually the shitshow that's going on in Westminster is certainly making us ponder it for the first time ever). I like the SNP in some ways but not others. And I don't know if voting Green or LibDem is just a wasted vote.

I've voted Labour all my life and at the moment can't see me voting for them again in any election, so I'm really having to think about things quite hard.

Lessstressedhemum · 13/05/2019 10:32

I think indyref2 is coming regardless.SNP is the only way to make a mark. the other parties wont have any impact up here.

Blankiefan · 13/05/2019 21:00

I suspect I'll vote SNP but wish I didn't feel I had to.
