Miscarriage or period? [Potentially triggering]

Hi all,

triggering question/ topic so apologies for this but I'm having a weird experience and thought it might be more productive to speak to MN than randomly google.

Over the past month, I'd experienced some pregnancy symptoms - even my DP pointed out that my nipples were much larger/ darker etc. I hadn't taken a test and thought I'd wait it out until my period is due (around the 19th/ 20th) but last night I started bleeding heavily and that's continued today. Obviously, it's a week early for my period which is unusual but other than that, it seems just like a period. I had heavier cramping than usual this afternoon but other than that, like I said, it's just my period but earlier.

Given pregnancy symptoms over the past month, I'm confused and wondered if you could mistake a miscarriage for a period. Is that possible? I really wish I'd taken a test now - I suppose it doesn't matter either way now but i'd be interested to know others' experiences.

You can still test, it'll still show a positive result at this stage if it is a miscarriage.

Hope you're ok x

If you take a test now and you were pregnant, it should still be positive as the HCG would still be in your system. An FRER would tell you either way, I think.
