Why do some families sound posher than other ones?

When they have exactly the same jobs, went to exactly the same schools, live in the same place. How is it some families still have an air about them?

Maybe their own parents taught them not to speak lazily or to use slang or drop their aitchies?

Speech and drama lessons here.

Grew up down South where the accents are rife. I don't have one apart from neutral/slightly posh.

Confidence? Attitude? Some people just seem to be touched with gold dust and glitter.

We’re not well off, but my daughter and I both sound a bit posh. I’m not sure why, possibly inherited from my mother who speaks very well.. I have a theory that I read too many boarding school stories at an impressionable age.

I'm Scottish but growing up got called a 'snob' as didn't have the strong accent in the local town. My mum was english and had elocution lessons growing up so sounded posh I guess.
