I want to make my 16yr old son a birthday cake. Thinking a chocolate layer cake with butter cream. I am looking for a soft, not too bitter but not over sweet cake. Also a good buttercream that is not too sickly. Loads of recipes online recommending using oil, buttermilk etc. Any baking experts who could suggest a good recipe - thank you!
