Houses or places you remember but you don’t know why you were there.

Inspired by another thread does anyone else ever remember visiting people when you were a child and now having no idea who they were?

Nothing sinister I promise, just visits to random family or friends.

I remember one house that was a very 70s house and being confused by the high up long horizontal windows.
I also remember going to visit the Aunt of a friend who lived in a beautiful little cottage with a river opposite the front door.

I remember going with my parents to visit a family who had a farm, we had tea in their kitchen and I played in a barn with their children. I never saw them again and have no idea who they were.

Yes I have this a lot. Once I describe the place/person to my mum she can usually remember where it was. It often seems to be people or places I went between the ages 2-5.

Oh I’ve remembered another one.

It was friends of my parents who had moved to a new house.
I remember it because it was an upside down house. You went into the house from ground level but the stairs went down to the bedrooms as it was in the side of a hill.

heatherblue I have a very similar memory - playing with the farm's kids was using an air rifle, where I discovered that if I used the correct eye (duh) I could actually hit the plastic tub we were using as a target.

I have no idea what we were doing there. Never went again.

I get this all the time and my mum never seems to be able to remember who, what, why.

I remember going to meet an English family (we’re NI) we had never met before in a pub. The adults seemed to be having a very serious discussion and me and the other kids sat at a table on our own for hours for reasons unbeknownst to me. They had a laptop which I had never seen in real life before and also a dvd which I had never heard of before Grin I remember thinking the girl my age was so sophisticated talking about where to put the ‘dvd’. Afterwards we went back to their house and the kids had their own rooms and fancy bunkbeds with desks underneath.

They seemed like from another planet to me which is obviously why I remember but my mum has no idea what I’m talking about.

That sounds very odd Peaches.
