Tan moisturiser - does it actually work?

More specifically Dove summer revived? I've never used anything like this before and some reviews say it's brilliant and works after a couple of applications and some say it doesn't work at all!

Dove is the only one that works on me. None of the others do. Get the dark one. I'm very pale, started off with the lighter one, but it didn't do much. The darker one isn't 'scary orange tan' or anything like that.

I'm in Ireland and get it at a local discount shop for a few quid. In the UK I suspect you'd probably be able to get it in places like B&M or Poundland for much less than you'd pay in Boots/Superdrug etc.

I'm using the palmers cocoa butter tan moisturiser and it's lovely. I also like the tan maintainer with hint of tan (adtersun by Amber soliare - not sure of spelling)

The St Tropez daily is great but you do have to be as careful applying it as you do with fake tan . I didn't like the smell of the Dove one but it's been a fair few years since I tried it so it may have improved.

I've just started using the Garnier one, it's only day 2. I hoped I wouldn't smell of biscuits but I do Sad

Day 1 of the Decleor one here. Smells a bit fake tanny and took a while to dry. Was a bit tacky but it's ok now. I'll probably be all patchy tomorrow !!!!

The dove one works in me but I am milky white so everything shows up on me.even though it’s a gradual tan you do still need to be careful rubbing it in otherwise you get streaks (as I found out). Also make sure you wipe it off of anywhere you don’t what to tan. I had a stripe up the inside of my arm for weeks because I hadn’t realised I had rubbed some there!

I've tried out the Dove medium and impressed with the results. Until the weather is boiling and I'm going to wear shorts I won't be using it regularly.

Dove is pretty good but sticky. Palmer's is the only one of many tans I've used that I really hated - very bad smell and awful implausible jaundice colour.

I've tried dove and garner and both brands came out quite streaky of I used enough to actually make me look slightly tanned.

But I have also tried the L'Oréal Sublime bronze tan for fsi skin in the spray bottle and it is brilliant. Dries completely within about 5 mins and as you don't need to rub it in it (, just spray all over) it doesn't go streaky at all. Definitely a better finish and so much quicker than the tanning moisturisers.
