Yoga for an absolute beginner.

Any recommendations for a DVD or is there a franchise that does classes all over the country or something?

I’ve tried a local yoga class with an independent instructor but I was waaaay out of my depth, I need something for an absolute beginner with no flexibility or ability to stretch at all Grin

I’d recommend a community education type course. I went as an absolute beginner and I was fine. They are usually a bit cheaper than studio classes too.

Hiya, search for Yoga with Adrienne on You Tube. She's got hundreds of videos on there, some for absolute beginners. They're very easy to follow. Instructor- led classes are better, but if you can't find a beginners class, you may find it helpful to learn the basics from YouTube before going along to a class.

Good luck with it. I'm a total yoga addict. It really does change your lie once you get into it 😊

I started with dvds by Barbara currie. They were a v good introduction. But to be honest there is so much on YouTube. Yoga with Adrienne is good.

I’m hoping so! I definitely need to physically loosen up and at the class I went along to we did a relaxation thing at the end, everyone around me was dozing off, I was mentally making a list of things I needed to do and what shopping to pick up on the way home. I need to switch my brain off sometimes.

Yoga with Adrienne it is then! Thanks for the recommendations.

Have a look for a yoga studio. The one I go to does classes for different levels, including absolute beginners.
I use Adrienne as well now but I wouldn’t have known whether I was doing the poses right without the class.

Haha, everyone's like that to start with. I used to lie there thinking abut what to have for dinner! The more you meditate, the easier it becomes. Have a look on YouTube for some meditation videos. it's great for helping you to relax.
