Do kids have pen pals anymore?

My dd 11 keeps asking me if she can have a pen pal.
I used to have one when I was a kid but do such things exist in this day and age? Where would I even start looking?

Ds wrote for a while to the ds of a MN friend of mine in Greece. Ds got overanxious so we stopped but AFAIK her dd is still writing to another MNer's dd.

I read about this facebook page in an article. it was started by a women who wanted a penfriend and gradually developed. You could post a message on there asking if any of the members have children/grandchildren? x

My DD now has a few pen pals through www.globalpenfriends.com
as I was keen to find her some as I had loads in the 80’s! The letters she has received so far (from the states) seem legit!
