Any remedy/advice for post-infectious IBS or gastritis?

Hi,
So I've had ongoing nausea and diarrhea for 5 weeks (I already have IBS-D so diarrhea is not very unusual but the.. smell is far worse which seems to suggest infection) but the nausea is the worst thing - It's been off and on throughout the day for 5 weeks (no vomiting but keep gagging and feeling nausea) - initially thought I had a stomach bug but it wouldn't go on this long... so now, I'm thinking it's either gastritis or post-infectious IBS..

I've been to the GP already - blood tests were fairly normal (low potassium probably coz of diarrhea) and stool test (no presence of the bacteria and viruses they test for but obviously doesn't rule out all bacteria/viruses) but faecal calprotectin (inflammation marker) was in the high range (186) but high in the normal range so not exactly at IBD level (and told this value could even be a result of inflammation due to a infection etc. so it's fairly non-specific) so even the GPs have no idea what it is. From my research, I think it's likely to be gastritis or post-infectious IBS - any remedy/cure for how you cured either of this illnesses? & did they reoccur? please

I'm almost in tears everyday trying to manage the nausea at work, having to go the loo every hour or so in fear I'm gonna throw up (but never do). I'm still eating but definitely don't have the high appetite I usually do and not even craving sugar which is abnormal for me.

Are you taking any antacids? I had something v similar and it was due to starting omeprazole, was going to the loo 20 times a day.

If you are safe to take them it may be with trying ranitidine or similar. Any other symptoms of gastritis, pain, burping, feeling full quickly?

I absolutely share your passion in this and hope you find a way to manage this soon
