Any ideas. I can't see any reason online

They booked Heidi Allen from the Change UK (?? Sorry may have the name of the party wrong, I think you’ll know what I mean though), and because we are now having the European Parliament elections this month, they can’t go ahead with broadcasting.

ValleyoftheHorses · 10/05/2019 21:27

They had a Tory on last week and Farage was on Question time last night. Are the BBC totally biased?
Really don’t like censorship

vinoandbrie · 10/05/2019 21:27

Election rules apply basically, even though she’s not standing, and they took a decision not to go ahead. I think it’s debatable whether they should have pulled it tbh!

Purdah?

From their Facebook page ...

I actually came on here to ask the same question. Thank you. I knew I’d find the answer on Mumsnet.

thelastgoldeneagle · 10/05/2019 22:35

Gah! Annoying.

Triglesoffy · 10/05/2019 22:37

Did Ian SmuggyMcSmugface write that blurb?

Il

InABigCountry · 10/05/2019 22:38

I was looking forward to it as well.

AlunWynsKnee · 10/05/2019 22:39

Hasn't she become the leader of the party and they can't have leaders on during the run up to an election.
Seems daft. They've managed to be a guest down before.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 10/05/2019 22:41

What’s the difference between last week and the local elections?

Graphista · 10/05/2019 23:14

Sinister I'm guessing it may be to do with panellists that may actually be standing for election in either? If nobody on last week was actually standing in a local election that may have been ok?

Love their Facebook response Grin

AlunWynsKnee · 11/05/2019 00:32

Sinister they weren't fielding any candidates and she wasn't booked for last week. She's only been the 'leader' for a short while.

PickAChew · 11/05/2019 00:36

That explains a lot. TV stayed on for all of the minute it took to realise there was nothing worth watching at all, once another Would I Lie To You repeat appeared.

Triglesoffy · 11/05/2019 10:22

I do think the BBC has lost its way.

TSSDNCOP · 11/05/2019 10:24

I was betting Danny Baker was a guest but the timing was wrong.

Silly Danny.
