OH saw Rick Stein cooking a paella on tv the other night, googled the recipe and bought all the ingredients. It smelt a bit odd when he was cooking it. Sat down to eat, it looked good, but oh my god tasted so weird. Turns out it was mixed spice, nutmeg, etc. it tasted like fishy xmas!! cake. The dogs are in for a treat tomorrow morning, the rest of the family just could not eat more than the shellfish. I am now starving but trying not to offend our chef by chowing down on a sandwich.
So often now I see chefs faffing with food adding odd things to classic dishes, is it to flog a book or something.
