What can I make, just 4 of us. I really don't want to do lasagne. Is ottonlenghi too ambitious?

When?

screamer1 · 10/05/2019 19:49

Tomorrow!

Is there a particular Ottolenghi recipe you're looking at?

You could do a kind of mezze. Ottolenghi does these really tasty roasted red peppers with mozzarella (I use feta), and aubergines in yoghurt sauce. You could do a few different things with some nice bread?

flugelhorn81 · 10/05/2019 19:53

Alternatively a curry might be an idea - spinach and paneer or chickpea, or dal?

Starryskiesinthesky · 10/05/2019 19:54

The Ottolenghi aubergine cheesecake is delicious 😋

MrsBertBibby · 10/05/2019 19:56

This is delicious and easy (use tinned chick peas and 500 ml water max)

This is fresh and zingy (just do the chopping ahead of time, and make double

And you can make it in advance. Thomasina meiers tequila strawberry and mango pudding is lovely too.

Red dragon pie, Sarah brown.

Felafal pretending to be meatballs in a tomato sauce with tagliatelle.

Tofu peanut butter and vegetable stir fry with noodles

Daal , rice, vegetables

If you go with flugelhorns mezze idea then do the ottolenghi couscous

MrsBertBibby · 10/05/2019 20:02

We made this the other day. Ridiculously easy. Bit of a carb overload so I would add salad leaves on the side. I would also increase the amount of tomato/parsley and the sauce from what they say. Bloody delicious.

This is a glorious and straightforward starter/side/mezze type thing.

This is absolutely delicious and super easy.

Serve with homemade guacamole, fresh bread, salad, Greek yoghurt etc.

Kazzz65 · 10/05/2019 20:09

Falafel with salad and pitta pockets. Whizz up in a food processor a tin of chicken peas, onion, breadcrumbs, fresh herbs, cumin, salt/pepper. Form into balls, brush with olive oil and bake in the oven.

screamer1 · 10/05/2019 20:32

Amazing all! Thank you so much! Definitely using some of these. I might attempt an easy meze style. That Tomasina Myers recipe sounds excellent.

MrsBertBibby I am making that exact recipe one day next week. I discovered it today when googling quick vegan recipes for inspiration. Good to see you recommend it.

MrsBertBibby · 10/05/2019 22:45

It is delicious happy. But next time we will have more tomatoes and more sauce per yam.
