I’m a 38 year old coffee virgin -anyone else?

I must be the only 38 year old in the whole entire world who has never had a drink of coffee, not even a sip. I’ve trief coffee flavoured sweets and never liked the flavour so have never bothered with the drink. Quite like the idea of pep-up in the mornings though.

I have never drunk coffee or tea, I cant stand the smell of either so have never been able to get close enough to drink it. I'm 35.

Harrison376 · 10/05/2019 19:41

Now I used to feel the same about tea but we went on a horribly long, freezing cold hike a few years back and I felt chilled to the bone. Out of desperation to get warm I had some of DH’s flask of tea and it clicked with me, I’ll even make myself one now whereas I only ever used to drink it out of politeness when I was round at someone’s house.

Never tasted coffee, tried tea as a child a few times but never took to it.

If you want a pep up in the morning maybe try like half a line?

ShirleyPhallus · 10/05/2019 19:51

That’s a joke. Coffee is ace

Nuttyaboutnutella · 10/05/2019 19:53

Coffee is overrated.

EverythingNow · 10/05/2019 19:58

39 and never tried it. It smells horrid, coffee cake and coffee chocolates are yuck so not interested in trying it. I also don't like the smell of coffee breath.

Arrowfanatic · 10/05/2019 20:00

I hate the coffee smell and sweets & cake with coffee in are rank so never actually bothered to try a mug of coffee.

Tea however i drink so much of I'm fairly sure i bleed tea.

Gunpowder · 10/05/2019 20:01

I’d be careful. I had a double espresso once (never had coffee before) and I couldn’t sleep till 5am. Never again. I like very weak Lady Grey or peppermint tea #wild

Plsnomorepeppapig · 10/05/2019 20:02

Me ✋🏼. I’m 38 and have never had a cup of coffee. Yuk. Have drunk tea since childhood though - decaf for the last 10 years as I discovered my heart palpitations which I’ve always suffered from were made so much worse by caffeine.

CarrieBlu · 10/05/2019 20:02

I love coffee cake and chocolates, but I hate drinking it. Coffee as a drink always tastes really bitter and unpleasant to me.

GlitterPixie · 10/05/2019 20:05

I hate the taste of coffee and the smell reminds me of hangovers

Harrison376 · 10/05/2019 20:16

People rave about it though don’t they, I keep wondering if I’m missing something.

Gunpowder that made me lol!

Well we all like different things lots of people love hot choc and I think it’s vile.

I’ve always loved coffee ever since I was a little girl and my gran used to make me milky coffees. Probably how I like them isn’t up to the standards of coffee snobs purists but I love a latte or cappuccino. I love coffee chocolates and coffee cake as well. Mmm

theliverpoolone · 10/05/2019 20:20

I'm much older than you, and never had a sip either! Don't like coffee cake or chocolates, so assume I wouldnt like to drink it either.

Figgygal · 10/05/2019 20:24

Yup 38
Can't get past the smell of it boak

I do drink tea but don't feel you can LOVE tea in the way people LOVE coffee

AndOutComeTheBoobs · 10/05/2019 20:25

ShirleyPhallus 😂😂 I think we might have a similar past.

Montsti · 10/05/2019 20:27

I also hate the smell and have never tasted tea or coffee...I’m 43😱

WatchingTheWheels85 · 10/05/2019 20:30

Me too, I'm 34 all I drink is water.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 10/05/2019 20:37

Coffee smells lovely but tastes bloody dreadful. Have had accidental sips. Urgh.
