It’s my birthday today and I’ve had some flowers delivered from DH.

We always use it as an excuse to book a mini break as well (we do the same with his birthday).

My husband bought me a dyson hand held vacuum cleaner. I was so mad that I went out and bought myself a lovely silk top and gem necklace. In fairness to him the dyson has proved to be more useful than the gifts I bought myself!

LesLavandes · 10/05/2019 15:33

Nothing

AiryFairy1 · 10/05/2019 15:37

Tickets to Hamilton and a bunch of roses (the show is more of a joint present as his bday near mine.
And a dear friend took me out for a long lazy brunch. It was a good day!
@limesoda Happy Birthday 🎈🎉

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 10/05/2019 15:58

Gin - different varieties.

Moneyisnteverything · 10/05/2019 16:00

Last year, nothing. Which is why this year I intend to be single.

BrokenWing · 10/05/2019 16:02

It was a huge big birthday and we don't usually get each other birthday gifts so I jokingly wound dh up that it needed to be a special present for a big birthday.

He panic bought a stupidly expensive (>£1k) over priced ugly Raymond Weil watch (we aren't £1k watches type of people!).

I made him take it back, get a refund and he later got me a reduced £80 fitbit.

GabrielleNelson · 10/05/2019 16:08

Nothing. My husband and I share a birthday and for many years we've chosen not to bother with cards and presents. We go out somewhere nice for the day and out for dinner in the evening.

A few years ago on this occasion I choked on a piece of steak gristle while we were eating, my windpipe was completely blocked, I couldn't speak, but he worked out what was happening and without hesitation did the Heimlich manoeuvre on me (he isn't an HCP but had fortunately done a first aid course). This probably saved my life, so I think he's excused from further birthday presents forever more! Grin

S0CKS · 10/05/2019 16:14

I don't buy for many people so don't get many gifts in return were not really buying for friends people so i only buy 5 presents in a year family wise and DH

I got
A ring i wanted
A day out i wanted
A dream holiday, it was a big birthday we had been wanting to go here for a while and it was a good time to go so we called it my main gift.
Other than that some chocolate and that's about it.
I always give myself £500 spending money on my birthday that I save up for throughout the year which was spent on a naice handbag.

myidentitymycrisis · 10/05/2019 17:02

some softening hand polish from crabtree and evelyn, some money. 4 cards.

LBOCS2 · 10/05/2019 17:54

A carthen for my bed
A jewellery box
An album of childhood pictures (particularly meaningful as I lost everything from my childhood home - including photographs - in a fire on NYE)
Potions workshop afternoon tea

I was also taken to dinner at the OXO tower by my sister and DH and I took the DC to a local restaurant for lunch on the actual day. It was all very nice!

NorthernBirdAtHeart · 10/05/2019 17:57

Tickets (for the whole family) to watch a musical I’ve already seen twice... I was not amused!

MrsGrannyWeatherwax · 10/05/2019 18:03

Books - 2 decent ones and loads of generic easy reads
Make up - little bits but appreciated
Naice piece of jewellery
Sweets

ThisIsTheEndgame · 10/05/2019 18:05

I didn't want anything. Like, really truly didn't want anything. DH took me out for lunch, bought me two cocktails, and changed all the nappies that day. I was more than happy.

This year I want Captain Marvel pyjamas Grin

HearMeSnore · 10/05/2019 18:45

Perfume
Bottle of Prosecco
Lunch out
Got my car cleaned and vacuumed for me.

The car cleaning was the best gift. I have never really been one to value "stuff" and trying to get rid of clutter, not collect more. I would much rather someone does something for me to save me doing it myself.

mindutopia · 10/05/2019 18:49

I got a spa day (which I still haven’t used because I booked it and the spa cancelled on me). Probably also something alcoholic.
