I know there are some wonderful step parents out there, and also plenty who don't treat their step children very well. And everything in between.
My question is this - do the step parents who don't treat their step children as well as their own children (and/or who try to reduce the contact between the step child and their partner) know they are doing it? In general, do people who are perceived as mean step-mothers and step-fathers know they are perceived this way?
I know there are no clear answers on this (as with any question of a similar sort), but having a related family situation has made me wonder....
Is there anyone out there who thinks they are a bad step parent (and is happy to accept it or trying to change it) and willing to say so??
