I’ve no idea where my cat poops.

We have a cat flap and he saunters outside occasionally. I presume he poops out there. But I have no idea where he actually goes.
I’m always seeing people on here talking about cats pooing in their own garden, or the neighbours garden or the flower beds, and the angst it causes.
Don’t cats bury it? Are they doing it on the patio? How do you know where they go?
So as not to drip feed he does wander in my neighbours house and garden, but they adore him and have never complained about him pooping there. He doesn’t really go anywhere else.

Mine only uses his tray. If he's outside then he nips back in to use it and goes back out again. I'm fully aware he is not the most normal.....

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 10/05/2019 12:57

I just had to pick up a sodding cat turd from the front garden. I don’t mind picking up after my dogs but this is not on.

I think I’ll let the dogs deal with the bastarding cat. I’m sure they can sort it out.

Ollie probably wonders why you are not providing the best quality paper to wipe and a proper flush.

@YetAnotherSpartacus Grin along with his lightly warmed towel for rainy days
He comes running back in, uses his tray and then runs back out Confused

bluebluezoo · 10/05/2019 13:07

When did we start calling poo “poop”? I read it in an american accent and it’s weird.

I have never noticed cat poo in my garden. Foxes, yes. I think I’d rather have cats as fox poo absolutely stinks and is disgustingly sloppy with bits of bones and animal fur.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/05/2019 13:07

The lightly warmed towel is a basic feline right surely?

motortroll · 10/05/2019 13:17

As o said before cats do what the fuck they like! Someone suggested we pick up our cats pop. How can I do that if I don't know where she poos?? Cats are climbers and jumpers, they can't be contained easily like a dog.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 10/05/2019 13:19

Easy.

Keep the bloody thing indoors.

storminabuttercup · 10/05/2019 13:23

We have had our garden gravelled it looked lovely until it became a litter tray for the neighbours cats.
If you let your dog poo in the street without cleaning it up you get fined but because cats just fuck off where they want it’s ok. It drives me mental.

QuestionableMouse · 10/05/2019 13:25

My house backs onto acres and acres of farmland so one uses that. The indoor cat uses her tray then shouts for me to come and clean it.

ShatnersWig · 10/05/2019 13:38

I don't believe understand posters who claim their lawn is covered in cat poop

@Broken11Girl No worries, give me your phone number, I will phone you every time I find a cat shit on my lawn and then message you a photo of it with the date and time on so you can see I'm not lying.

BrexitBingoGenerator · 10/05/2019 13:47

I am just conjuring the energy and enthusiasm to go and shovel this pile of shit that some cat has deposited in my nice barrel planter. It’s right next to my front door ffs. My 3 yo daughter planted these plants and now they are covered in shit.

Honestly, this happens every fucking day- the temptation to go full cayenne-pepper is v v strong. I don’t care if it makes the cats paw sore, I don’t want my kids getting toxoplasmosis from their own garden. Angry

I’ve no idea where my cat poops.
AbbyHammond · 10/05/2019 13:51

I don't know where mine go either, not in their litter tray or garden!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 10/05/2019 13:59

This is so odd.

If I were to post that I have no idea where my dogs shit I would be slaughtered here, and cat owners just drop in and boast about it.

stucknoue · 10/05/2019 14:04

They go in my vegetable patch, drives ddog mad, he has to scent Mark all over it of course which drives me made!

BrexitBingoGenerator · 10/05/2019 14:04

chardonnay maybe cat owners are just like actual cats in that respect.

Effectively, we are all just to put up with other people’s animals shitting on our homes. Nice.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 10/05/2019 14:13

Yes, shit and run seems their preferred modus operandi.

Scrubbydubby · 10/05/2019 14:14

Brexit if there is a litter try available for them to use at home but they are choosing to do it elsewhere what do you suggest cat owners should do to stop it? I’m not bragging I just don’t see how I could possibly prevent it.

Pantah630 · 10/05/2019 14:18

Our two go in our garden, unlike every other cat who goes in others. We try to pick most of it up
Otherwise the dogs eat it Envynot jealousy

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 10/05/2019 14:18

Keep the fucker indoors.

SteamSoup · 10/05/2019 14:21

I'm fed up with the amount of cat poo in my garden, there's a 'path' that neighbourhood cats take across my garden and under the fence. I am constantly having to pick up cat poo along this route (and a dead mouse the other day, can't say for certain it was dropped by a cat tbf) they use the path across my garden at all hours which makes my dog bark. To top it all, I'm terrified of cats.

user1474894224 · 10/05/2019 14:22

@BrexitBingoGenerator does cayenne really work? I have cat shit all over and the cats use our garden as an unofficial spaghetti junction. I wouldn't mind just one cat visiting (as long as there was no shit) but they fight and squeal at each other) and scare the beautiful birds.

BrexitBingoGenerator · 10/05/2019 14:28

I don’t know scrubby because I don’t have cats; it’s therefore should not be my fucking problem to have to deal with their fetid shits all over my garden. Maybe you should invest some time thinking of a solution, since you supposedly think yourself a responsible pet owner.

Bravelurker · 10/05/2019 14:52

Don't mean to scare people but my DM neighbour from about 20 years ago used to threaten to poison her cats. Luckily these were empty threats as he was just frustrated and one of her more decent neighbours Shock.

Deathraystare · 10/05/2019 14:56

Ours always pooped in only our garden, never the neighbours. Bastards.
