Green umbrellas - I need green umbrellas!

Bit of a long shot but I thought I’d ask...
I need to purchase approximately 30 green umbrellas, light green or dark green, or a combination of both.

But ... (and here lies the problem) I only have £1 per umbrella to spend!
Does anyone have 30 spare green umbrellas know of a promo company or shop or anywhere that I might be able to purchase them at such a low price?
It’s for a school production at the end of term - the kids will hold them to create the effect of a rainforest canopy.
Thanks!

to create the effect of a rainforest canopy

Does the irony of this escape you?

Cheap, disposable, 1 use umbrellas to simulate a rainforest canopy?

Can you not gather branches and leaves to use? It seems such a shame to waste money on plastic umbrellas that will just get thrown away. Or if you can't use plants, can you make leaves out of paper? At least this could be recycled.

That is a good idea. Any £1 umbrella will be sweatshop produced and of unsustainable materials.

They wouldn’t get thrown away! And I never said disposable one use umbrellas either!
When I said cheap I meant cost wise.
We would keep them in school for playground duty or give them to parents/staff to use.

I once spent hours covering forty umbrellas in crepe paper for an end of year production. The umbrellas have been in school for years, and used in many productions. Worth a pint? Then people can just bring their own brolly :)

Some promo companies produce mass products at a cheap retail price - I was asking if anyone knew of anything like this

What about a large sheet with bamboo poles on each corner? It's what my school used for trees, the sky, clouds.... If you buy a plain green one it can either be kept and used again or donated.

IncyWincyGrownUp I fear I might end up doing exactly that Smile

When I said cheap I meant cost wise.

So environmentally damaging?

You can't make and import an umbrella for £1 without having an environmental impact.

Paint these in shades of green?*

The 99p ones are 20cms - not sure that's the effect she's going for!

WrongKindOfFace · 09/05/2019 20:30

Can they not just make giant leaves out of card and attach them to dowel (or even sticks?) Or do you have a parent with a tree in need of pruning?

PoptartPoptart · 09/05/2019 20:30

Thanks all for the suggestions!
