Why? Deadline looming...?

Friends of ours hired out a premiership football stadium for their DS' birthday one year. It was genuinely brilliant, with so much attention to detail and so many lovely touches like all the party guests receiving a team kit and footy boots at the end. I think I spent the whole day mouthing "wow" repeatedly.

I have lots to share, but like perch am just wondering if this will end up in the daily fail!

FlibbertyGiblets · 09/05/2019 13:39

None of note.

Probably one DS was invited to. I think there was inherited wealth as well as the parents being high earning.

They'd hired 2 trainers from one of the local football teams (quite a big one) to give lessons in their HUGE garden, a magician giving a show, a disco, a candy floss stall and professional caterers... with lots of lovely food for the parents and siblings too who were all encouraged to stay. Party went on into the evening.

The party bags were absolutely filled to the brim with sweets which made me smile as both party parents are dentists and there was a lucky dip with prizes like medium size boxes of lego and £10 amazon vouchers. This was the boys 6th birthday... can't wait for his 7th Grin

Drove past a mansion recently who had hired a funfair for a child’s birthday. Amazing balloon garland and security guard at the gates. So mad I didn’t know them 😄

BendydickCuminsnatch · 09/05/2019 16:42

And I mean, full size halter skelter and Ferris wheel visible from road

I once went to a party that had hotdogs for the adults attending!

A Christmas/birthday party for the son of a well known author/tv producer. It was fabulous - she hired a church hall had real Xmas trees covered in snow, two elves and Santa. There was an ice cream man with portable trolley. Lots of games and the prizes were proper games and toys. Food and drink for the adults too.
She went to a lot of effort and the kids had a lovely time but I do remember thinking ‘goodness she’s set the bar high’! But in retrospect she could have gone way over the top, but she managed to keep it fairly restrained considering her net worth and what she might have done if living in LA!

twirlypoo · 09/05/2019 17:20

bendydick are you up north?! There can’t of been 2 of them?! She had fire breathers and acrobats, an ice cream van and a full paid for bar for parents. Oh! And dodgems!!! It was in her back garden and was incredible!

One in a castle (they live there, so not that bananas on that score) that had a champagne reception for the staff.

Another one had a zoo theme and had painted her horses to look like zebras.....

They are lovely parents, and the school very much has the church hall type parties as well, but these are some of the more out there ones Ds has been too!

I wish I could attach photos without totally outing myself!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 09/05/2019 17:58

@twirlypoo nope! Shock
