Got to travel 8 hours in the car tomorrow. I'm not driving thankfully. DS 19 months is just not bloody sleeping. It's going to be awful tomorrow. Arrgh!

I'm up. Vomit bug for my DC here.

No sleep is torture. Can you sleep in the car?

Newmumma83 · 09/05/2019 03:11

That’s awful... not sleeping at all? ☹️ Ian just feeding 5 month old son x x do you have a partner that could take a turn? On nights like this me and dh will share and sleep in shifts x x

Newmumma83 · 09/05/2019 03:29

Fingers crossed your silence means you are getting some sleep 💤💤💤

Worrying about not sleeping is the pits. If you are not driving, you can doze in the car. And hopefully DS will too , so journey will be OK.

YouJustDoYou · 09/05/2019 03:34

Yup. Insomnia strikes again.

YouJustDoYou · 09/05/2019 03:35

Am I asleep now? Am I even falling sleep now? Is that the start of a dream? Oh, no, wait....nope, still wide awake.

NotSoThinLizzy · 09/05/2019 03:35

Sadly still not sleeping I've tried everything. OH not with us atm. Driving down to england for a funeral and OH has to work. Luckily my dad is driving us down. DS will be so cranky I doubt he'll sleep in car.

Us too 🙋🏻‍♀️ currently battling a10 month sleep regression and a wide awake baby Confused we're on day five and I'm ready to curl up and hibernate

tiredvommachine · 09/05/2019 03:52

Jet lag here urgh.
Hopefully your DS will sleep in the car for you, amazing sometimes what the lull of a car engine can do Flowers

NotSoThinLizzy · 09/05/2019 03:53

It sucks because DS had started to sleep through last month then he got ill and teething its been 3 weeks now 😢 I hope we all get some sleep soon.

Newmumma83 · 09/05/2019 03:55

Op I am sorry for your loss x x

I live in fear of sleep regresssion! Keep hearing about it...saying that baby went to sleep mins ago I have been doing food order and meal plans ... do hope all OJ ladies manage to get some sleep soon x x

And I hope the car journey will tire out little one if not do you have an iPad and amazon video ( perhaps download a few tv shows for the journey to allow you ca trapping opportunity if it can hold his attention for a little bit? ) if not do you have a large flask for coffee on the journey ?

BelulahBlanca · 09/05/2019 04:12

Can you sit in the back with him tomorrow? My DD hates all car journeys and I normally have to squeeze in between two car seats and hold her hand.

For now- could you get in his bed with him? Feed him to sleep? Pat his bum?

Decormad38 · 09/05/2019 04:49

Im up because I said I would pick my dd up and take her to station. She’s nervous about 1st day travelling with work. The things mums do! So having to get up at 5 and not 6.30 as usual!!

NotSoThinLizzy · 09/05/2019 04:50

Woo hes asleep after 1 and half hours of rocking and boobing 😊 got to be up at 7.30 🤣 seems kinda pointless to try sleep

OP posts:
NotSoThinLizzy · 09/05/2019 04:51

I can't feel my arm though ahhh warm bed 😴😴

greyspottedgoose · 09/05/2019 04:54

I'm up at 6 for work, had a couple too many last night and I have hangxiety 🙈

SarHar · 09/05/2019 05:00

Up here with vomiting 1 year old. He's finally asleep but I'm wide awake feeling anxious. We've been taking it in turns to be ill since I went back to work at the start of April - I've barely been in work and I feel so guilty. It's so lonely being awake in the middle of the night.

Hope everyone is getting some sleep and all thr best for tomorrow, OP.

Justonedayatatime11 · 09/05/2019 05:34

Was admitted to hospital 10pm last night. Poor lady in bed next to me has projectiled blood from both ends no less than 21 times since then Sad. Haven't slept a wink

Jinglesplodge · 09/05/2019 05:41

Yup. With you. 15 month teether has woken every hour all night. My alarm goes off at 6:30 for work and I feel like crying.

Flashinggreen · 09/05/2019 05:55

Insomnia... got up just before 4am which was the time I woke up with the shivers yesterday. I’d been lying there since about midnight. Felt like having a cuppa. Trying not to focus on the lack of sleep, will push on through now til tonight.

NotSoThinLizzy · 09/05/2019 07:48

So I'm up even though I felt like throwing my alarm across the room and saying fuck it. Of course wee guy is still fast on 🤣 banging sore head atm.

PengThePenguin · 09/05/2019 08:13

We finally got to sleep at 5:30am, I slept on DDs floor because i was scared of waking her and it all starting again. She woke up a couple more times but settled herself. I feel like 💩 and totally ready for bed time already (mine, not hers). The thought of another night like that is making me feel a bit sick tbh Confused

NotSoThinLizzy · 09/05/2019 08:14

Poor you that couldn't of been very comfy. Hope the sleep dust works tonight.

OP posts:
VenusClapTrap · 09/05/2019 08:19

I was wide awake from 3am till 5am last night with raging insomnia. What was bothering me? Whether I should have specified more ‘legs’ on my new pergola and how I will successfully train a wisteria over it.

What an idiot. Hmm

I have a long day of driving ahead of me too.

PengThePenguin · 09/05/2019 09:18

I had a giant giraffe for a pillow so I suppose things could have been worse
I was not the most comfortable I have to say.

Ah the things we think of @VenusClapTrap aren't our brains just completely fucking weird
