Tips for getting boob tape residue out of clothes?

I have a lovely maxi dress that I wore to a wedding- unfortunately it is a style that can’t be worn with a bra underneath, and as I am rather generous of nork I used some toupee tape to keep it in place.

I’ve gone to wash it today, and whilst I’ve managed to get most of the tape off the dress it’s left a lot of sticky residue behind- I’ve tried spraying it with rubbing alcohol and scraping with a teaspoon but it doesn’t really do anything. Any other suggestions for what might work? The fabric is 100% polyester and quite thick so not likely to fray or anything, plus the tape was on the inside of the dress. I hope I haven’t wrecked it!

First of all, nork GrinGrin

Second - you could try a hairdryer, or I've heard of people ironing it over kitchen towel (use several sheets) or there's this:

Op, i work with costumes and sometimes we need to use tape on them.
If the stickiness gets bad we generally use some surgical spirit or if we run out then nail polish remover.
Use it sparingly with a cotton bud, test rub a piece of the clothing that doesn't show first to check it won't lighten or stain it. If its ok just rub very gently in down movements over the stickiness until you think its gone. Clean as per usual.
