Wow that's a different name for a Royal

OP posts:
Teddybear45 · 08/05/2019 17:19

His full name would be Archibald.

ScreamingLadySutch · 08/05/2019 17:19

Harrison Confused

Rightoutofhere · 08/05/2019 17:19

I actually like it, I’m surprised at the overwhelming negativity and shock?

RattyTat · 08/05/2019 17:20

Archibald isn't an improvement on anything.

Darkbendis · 08/05/2019 17:20

Archie and Archibald are good Scottish names Grin . And I like Harrison Ford so... all thumbs up from me Wink. Not that they care (and they really shouldn't, their baby, their choice Wink )

cafesociety · 08/05/2019 17:21

Of all the gorgeous boys names there are, I'm surprised at the choice and not impressed. Too many dogs called Archie.

Agednotwine · 08/05/2019 17:21

No - his name is Archie. If his full name was Archibald they'd have said that's what his name was.

onemorecakeplease · 08/05/2019 17:23

Love it: but then I have an Archie - ten years ago when I named him that there were none!!

howwudufeel · 08/05/2019 17:23

A journalist who I think is Claudia Winkleman’s mother said that Spencer is the name of someone who would work for Harry and Meghan. I wonder what she is making of Archie Harrison Grin

fecketyfeck21 · 08/05/2019 17:23

at least they didn't choose a made up name or add a 'cute i' Confused to some name. still it'll give the world something else to take the piss out of along with brexit

SheeshKebab · 08/05/2019 17:23

I like Archie. Harrison not so much but each to their own. They seem to have chosen a name they really like and not necessarily the ones a royal baby is usually named so good for them😊

Agednotwine · 08/05/2019 17:23

George Harrison anyone?

EdithWeston · 08/05/2019 17:24

Agree Agednotwine

They have said Archibald ka Archie if that were his name. Bit like his father was announced as Henry ka Harry

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 08/05/2019 17:25

Oh dear Lord!
What on earth are they thinking?!

Agednotwine · 08/05/2019 17:25

They don't have the pressure of him being a future King, so they were a lot freer than K&W

RedForShort · 08/05/2019 17:26

First name Harrison would have had more mileage: Introducing Harry's son, Harrison.

Anyway, his mum's American, best build a bridge and just get over it!!

Mssngvwls · 08/05/2019 17:29

Oh dear Lord!
What on earth are they thinking?!

Can't be certain but I think it may have been that they liked those names and they were naming their own child.

What a horrible bunch of snobs on this thread.

Agednotwine · 08/05/2019 17:29

I wonder how Americans pronounce Archie. I pronounce in Ar-chee, British would pronounce it Awr-chee. Any Americans here?

TitilatedOcelot · 08/05/2019 17:29

If it is Archibald that's a brave choice given the Windsor males' record with hair loss!

ThomasRichard · 08/05/2019 17:30

It’s awful but it’s not as though they’ll care what anyone else thinks so good for them for choosing a name they like. Freaking heck though. Really?!

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2019 17:30

I am glad its not Alfie , although i do like that name.
Alfred is quite royal - Freddie would have been nice. I like his name though.

Cookiedoughforbreakfast · 08/05/2019 17:32

Bloody hell! I can't believe some of these reactions.

It's not my absolute favourite, no, but it doesn't really matter what I think, because it's not my baby!

IKnowYouAndYouCannotSing · 08/05/2019 17:33

That’s bad. I feel like that name is more suited to the son of the Duke and Duchess of Essex*. Do not like.

  • I’m an Essex Girl, so I can say that.
hazeyjane · 08/05/2019 17:33

So many negative connotations for both names.

Unless Adolf was actually Archie Hitler and I was mistaken about Josef and it was actually Harrison Stalin, I'm struggling to see what negative connotations?!

BabyDueDecember2019 · 08/05/2019 17:33

I think it's a lovely name and well done that they didn't pick a royal name.

I read online that he will not have a title, but has that actually been substantiated? I can understand if they chose to avoid him having a title
