Isn't Archie a nickname? If he has red hair like his dad he will be like Archie from the comics.,

QueenKubauOfKish · 08/05/2019 16:55

To me it feels like a name you choose when you can't think of anything else.

See for me that's Alex, so I was dismayed when I heard that was on the list. I know about 432 Alexes.

@bobbiepin.
I know two Archie’s, both lovely.

I like it.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 08/05/2019 16:57

Not after Harrison Ford then? Wink

Isn't Archie normally short for something?

Rachelle11 · 08/05/2019 16:58

Not a fan of the name at all. Does he have a title? Will he be Prince Archie? Or would that have already been announced with it?

KittenMittens1 · 08/05/2019 16:59

I really don't like it haha, sounds like a pet name! Not fit for the royals!

Switsy · 08/05/2019 16:59

I bet the Daily Mail is frantically putting an article together featuring little boys already called Archie Harrison. There’s bound to be loads of them.

Would never have guessed they'd go for Archie. Can't say I'm a fan!

IhavetoD0something · 08/05/2019 17:00

I like it. Normally idont like harrison but for the son of a harry i do like it.

QueenOfIce · 08/05/2019 17:00

Harrison?? Why not go all the way and call him Tyler. Awful middle name.

cptartapp · 08/05/2019 17:00

Yikes. Dreadful. The first two names don't sit right with the latter at all.
Polar opposites.

MustardScreams · 08/05/2019 17:01

I hate it. My mum’s dog is an Archie so all I can picture is them shouting “come Archie!”

Harrison - Harry’s son... really?

outvoid · 08/05/2019 17:03

I don’t mind Harry and MM as Royals go but the name is horrid.

PodgeBod · 08/05/2019 17:03

I wish they had gone a bit out there with Archibald and just nicknamed him Archie. This name is really bland.

LizzieSiddal · 08/05/2019 17:04

Archie is a lovely name, I know a few, they are all rather posh.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 08/05/2019 17:05

I suppose it fits in with Mia/Lena/Savannah/Isla though, doesn't it? Prince William's children are perhaps the odd ones out!

VanillaCoconutDove · 08/05/2019 17:05

Is that what we’re expecting to be his christened name?

Or is it a Harry christened Henry scenario?

LizzieSiddal · 08/05/2019 17:06

I'm very pleased they haven't given him a title.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 08/05/2019 17:07

They have chosen not to give him a courtesy title, but he'll become Prince Archie if Charles takes the throne. According to the news.

They seem smitten and I'm happy for them.

PodgeBod · 08/05/2019 17:09

None of the Archie's I know are posh

Switsy · 08/05/2019 17:09

Archie, Ernie, Alfie - I find all those names slightly ridiculous.

SleepyRoo · 08/05/2019 17:11

It’s also the name of an iconic John Lewis dog-on-wheels that was regrettably discontinued

thenightsky · 08/05/2019 17:16

The only Archie I've ever known was an Old English Sheepdog (he was lovely though, to be fair).

QueenofLouisiana · 08/05/2019 17:16

I teach 2 Archies, with another couple in the school.

We are not a posh school.

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2019 17:17

Harrison, oh yes, didnt think of that one!
I like the name myself.
