Do threads on chat stay forever now?

Yes they do.

There's a 30 days only & a 90 days only option if you want your thread to disappear eventually, but they don't get much traffic.

Personally I was really disappointed when they changed the Chat threads to permanent.

It was a good while ago now, it might have been November last year or maybe the year before that? Not sure why I have November in my head

August last year they removed the limit.

I don't really understand why they did it anyway. The 30 and 90 days really don't get much traffic. I suppose you can ask them to remove a thread if you want it to go.
