Confession: I've never changed the water filter on my fridge

I've lived in my house for over a year and the huge American fridge freezer came with it. Been drinking the water from in daily. Am I going to die a horrible death??? It looks and tastes clean...

No, it’ll stop working when the filter needs changing.

Jen1997 · 08/05/2019 00:24

It's had an indication light on it saying it needs changing. Think we tried to do it once but couldn't work out how to and have managed to ignore it ever since Confused

I'm with Wicked. My fridge is 11 years old and we have not changed a filter (whatever and where ever that is)

Jen1997 · 08/05/2019 10:00

@Aprilladvised does it have a water/ice dispenser in the door? That's the bit I'm referring to - we've been drinking that water but it's probably filled with all sorts of germies

Well the water is coming from your mains supply so I guess it's like drinking water from the tap?

irregularegular · 08/05/2019 10:45

Am I supposed to change it??

kaytee87 · 08/05/2019 10:48

I'm in Scotland so mine doesn't need changed as we have soft water. Not sure about elsewhere.
