What's your dream job?

grumpyyetgorgeous · 06/05/2019 21:03

I often read posts that say "it's my dream job" and I've realised that I no longer have a dream job. So please give me some inspiration. If there were no barriers to getting any job you liked, what would your dream be?

Paeds nurse. It’ll never happen - I can’t afford to retrain now. Worlds away from what I actually do (and am fairly good at anyway). I wish I’d had more confidence to forge a different path earlier but comfort myself by remembering that I’ve had some amazing experiences and eg don’t know if I’d have met DH and so on.

Some great jobs here, how many of you will be able to achieve it?

Ds was in nicu for a while and I used to think I'd like to be a neonatal nurse. Not sure I'd cope with the babies that didn't make it though.

Wedding photographer, combines my two favourite things.

I have all the kit and am a good photographer but don't have the confidence around new people.

Guide dog trainer.
I used to live near a training centre and was invited for a look round. Had a fantastic tour which made me want to do the job even more. Unfortunately everyone has to start off on minimum wages working in the kennels. Which I would have been happy to do had I not just bought my first house. The wage I would have been paid, wouldn’t even have covered the mortgage repayment.

stayathomer · 06/05/2019 21:47

veterinary nurse. Every so often I consider going back to study for it but with four kids and the course itself an hour and a half away, work experience required, the fact that I now have a bad back and am nearly forty I think I'm officially out!

Holistic therapist using massage and aromatherapy to help others. I was given some taster courses for my birthday and been slowly working through them. I have 2 school with sn and its helped me calm them quicker during meltdowns. I've also been playing around with essential oils and made a much that has killed nits in my dds hair. We couldn't use over the counter lotions as she reacted to them or they set my oldest DC asthma off so I decided to try and make my own and it worked after a few failed attempts.
