Brachycardia

Does anyone have any experience of brachycardia? I have just bought a Fitbit and my resting heart rate when sitting up doing nothing is between 54 and 60...but more often in the 50s.

I’m physically unfit, around 1 stone overweight so it’s not due to being in good shape. Should I be concerned about this or is it normal?

Bradycardia.

It would be good if you’re very fit, but you say you’re not so maybe mention it to your GP.

I think it's only a potential problem if it gives you other symptoms such as chest pains, shortness of breath, dizziness etc.

My dh has a low resting heart rate of about 51, and a friend of ours has 48! But it's fitness in both cases.

Mine goes as low as 41-43 . I’ve had an ecg no other symptoms told not to worry about it .

Oops Blush I was too lazy to try to spell it so used voice command instead. Embarrassing.

it’s absolutely fine to have a pulse in the 50s. Fitbits and other watches are also not completely reliable at measuring pulses.

I don’t have shortness of breath in general but if I do exercise I’m out of breath very easily. I presume that’s just due to being unfit though.

The last few months I have experienced heart palpitations when due on my period. Every few seconds for 3 or so days. Had an ecg for that when I was sent to a&e when I had a virus in January. That and blood tests came back normal.
