Just for the ping on my phone and watched the sky news report.

He had such a grin and is so incredibly happy.

It's how any father should be after their baby is born and I'm as pleased for them as I am for any stranger who births a child.

I also loved his complete amazement at how woman cope with child birth

Obviously anyone would be pretty uncharitable not to be pleased all has gone well.

However I rather hope he'll follow the example of Princess Anne and request no title. This baby is only a minor royal.

For someone like me raised in the 60s when colonial racism was absolutely the norm this is a sign of an incredible progression in equality in this country and it makes me very happy indeed. I think there are lots of wonderfully gay people within the Royal family, it's the open and accepted element that lacks. Sad and cruel but 'traditions' are there for a reason right.....

@BlackandPurple, that is the only thing that's softened my heart, Harry is clearly so very happy, a baby has arrived safely and we all know how dangerous labour can be and often is and of course Megan has had a healthy delivery and she is doing well too. Take the politics out of it and it is wonderful news, new baby for first time parents. :)

Imagine all the interviews her insufferable sister will be giving .......
