Hey everyone. After some advice please. I’m due November 9th with our first baby. I have the intention of breast feeling but would like to express alongside. Q is, there a brand you recommended?? Manual v electric? Any advice would be great! 😊

I had the manual mothercare one. Does the job and good price. Manual and electric depends on how much you intend to express.

My advice is to wait until baby is here.
I had the intention to breastfeed; baby turned up and I wasn't able to. I expressed for two weeks and it was so time consuming for me, I stopped.

You just have to see how you feel and what will work with you and baby.

Electric all the way. Medala swing is great. Also get a cheap haakaa silicon one for less than £20 (or the copies on Ebay for about a fiver) as they are great for catching the let down on one side while you feed on the other. It is a good idea to buy these things now so you can spread the cost. Pumping doesn't have to be hard (but is with a manual pump).

I breast fed and expressed for 5 kids and tried all the pumps. It was a number of years ago, but manual are super hard work. Go for double, halves the time it takes, no " dribble" wasted.
Mine was the Ardo one.

I had a Philips double electric pump with a handsfree bra. I almost exclusively pumped for about 11/12 weeks though so needed a good one.
