Maternity send off

Hi everyone. I have a colleague who will be going on Maternity Leave soon. I'm just gathering ideas. Did your workplace do anything/give you a send-off for the start of your maternity and what did they do? Also what kind of presents did you receive?

I got a banner at my desk and balloon. A card with some money (could be vouchers as well) and some chocolates and flowers. We have a fairly big company so the money was from a card collection and to be fair it would probably be nursery goods but I had everything.

I'll was at a different job for DC3, and so my colleagues knew that I didn't need anything baby related. They gave me a voucher for a maternity massage, which made me actually cry (thanks hormones Hmm) as it was so thoughtful and just for me. Also had flowers and a mini bottle of prosecco ("for my hospital bag" Grin but I saved it for when I got home).

We also went out for lunch on my last day in the office and they gave me a card too.

For previous maternity leaves, I was given flowers on my last day.

Supervisor made a tiny speech at teabreak time saying good luck etc and I received a nice card signed by everyone with £60 cash. (12 people putting in £5 each I assume)
Much appreciated, especially as I had only worked with them all for 7 months. Cash was great instead of random little baby bits which to be honest we already had plenty of.
We used the cash to buy a baby bouncer and a baby gym.
Also gift vouchers are always appreciated- whether for baby type shop, or salon for mum to treat herself to a massage or something before or after baby arrives. X
