I just don't seem to be very good at present buying. My friend has been a rock to me this last year and I want her to know how much I appreciate her by getting her something nice for her birthday.

Hard to tell without a budget or knowing what she's into! My favourite present form a recent significant birthday was a necklace with three interlocking rings, with my children's names on them.
