Fisher and Paykel any good?

Hi, we are getting a new kitchen and have been advised to go for so many different brands by different people (mainly Siemens, AEG, Miele, and F & P), but generally people don’t know so much about Fisher & Paykel to compare. We are keen to get everything to match and we’re looking at the Siemens IQ700 range, but may have had our heads turned by F & P. Any advice out there?

I bought a Fisher & Paykel fridge, believing the reviews on the John Lewis website indicating that it was a quality product, I was so wrong. Within a year the fridge had developed a high pitched whistle that goes right through you, even in the next room. A Fisher & Paykel authorised technician came and told us that this was a common fault with Fisher & Paykel fridges and it would cost £400+ to repair. Fisher & Paykel refused to honour their warranty as we had moved from the country of purchase, even though they have a support presence in our country. An expensive lesson learned, our old Bosch fridge was a third of the price and lasted 12+ years, this one looked good and lasted less than a year, I suggest that you don't make the same mistake.
