Suggestions for date night in Glasgow

DH and I have a night away in a few weeks time, staying in a city centre hotel.

We don’t live a million miles away and know the city (centre at least) pretty well but we tend to go to the same places for dinner and drinks and back to the hotel for 11pm. It’s been over a year since we were last there, anywhere good we should be trying for a meal or any bars with half a chance of getting a seat (even in my late teens/early 20s I hated standing in bars with people pushing). It will by DH’s birthday that night so open to new ideas and somewhere a bit different than the usual.

Food wise we usually go to grill on the corner and both love Italian food but wouldn’t like Japanese or Middle Eastern cuisine, at least not enough to bank our date night on it.

Try the West End/Finnieston.

Alchemilla on Argyle Street (Finnieston) gets rave reviews, and then a few drinks in the Kelvingrove Cafe or The Finnieston.

Or there's a great new Italian on Hyndland Street in Partick called www.rossiniwestend.com/ Rossini that is SO good. And then Finnieston is just a short walk, or shorter taxi journey away.

There are so many good places to eat in Finnieston tbh.

The tapas in Rioja are amazing. And the restaurant has a nice buzzy atmosphere.

Ubiquitous Chip is always good.
