Has anyone used probiotics to "cure" bacterial vaginosis?

If so, which one did you take, what dosage and orally or vaginally? Did you have to keep taking the probiotics to maintain the "cure"?

P.S I don't mean a yeast infection, I mean bacterial vaginosis (bv)

Yes, I have. Chronic BV and one dose of Optibac For Women halved my symptoms. Three days later it had gone.I now take a prophylactic dose every other day or so as I'm worried it will return.

@MidsomerBurgers - thank you for your helpful answer. Can you detail what symptoms you had? (Feel free to private message me if you'd rather not write it in public)

Not what you're asking OP but I used Multi-gyn Actigel (you can buy it in boots or Amazon etc so easy to get hold of) for a bout of (GP confirmed) BV in the past and I use it occasionally still if things are feeling not quite right or after certain situations. I think there is another brand called balance active available also.

I do now take prebiotics for a digestive issue and take symprove. It's bloody expensive though.
