Has anyone ever lived in a house over run with creepy crawlies?

Lived here just over a year and I cant believe the amount of beasties we are getting.

I cant turn round but there are wood lice dead or alive.... I'm finding them constantly. And I mean 50 a day in all rooms on the floor on the walls etc

I've had at least one wasp in every day for the last week.

Ds and I are being bitten constantly by something ... ds more he is totally covered in bites !!

I've just found 3 ants on my bathroom windowsill!!

Weve got little spiders on webs on most windows. I get rid of them and they just appear again!

I absolutely hate them !

How do I bug-proof my house 😭

No help but we lived in a flat that used to get plagues of a type of insect depending on the time of year. We had flying ants, massive house spiders, woodlice... it was hideous. It did seem to settle down after a while. I still don't know what brought them out. Hope you can sort it...

As for the bites - have you checked the bed frames for bed bugs/lots of black dots?

Is the house quite damp?

I posted a few days ago about ants and spiders. It’s in the AIBU topic

Someone suggested a dehumidifier as we live near a park and a lot of creatures apparently cannot live in a dry atmosphere (something like that) 🤷🏻‍♀️

Try bicard and icing sugar for the ants...
Mix equal parts and put it down where you see the ants.. this kills the nest ...they will be gone in just over a day... And it can't hurt children and animals.

Woodside often mean damp somewhere - it might be time to have a quick check for leaks.

LarrySnotter · 06/05/2019 15:39

Yep. Woodlice, bugs that looked like small black woodlice (about 20 a day all over the house), constant spiders around the ceilings, slugs, occasional ear wigs and centipedes.

I used every bug spray and powder I could find, aired the house, de humidifier, sealed all holes. The house backed onto woods and the patio door was rotted, and would get blue mould I had to clean off. Landlord wouldn’t fix the door or take my complaints seriously.

I abandoned the place after a year. Thank god I’m out of there is all I can say. I’ll never move anywhere backing onto river/woods again or anywhere with wooden doors/windows.

My Mum's house. Woodlice everywhere and those skinny spiders. Also a recent outbreak of ladybirds. For a long time there was a frog in the downstairs bathroom. It doesn't bother me.

Yup, we're near a forest and on the site of an old wood yard. Spiders and woodlice galore here. I don't like spiders but they tend to keep to themselves so I leave them alone and Hoover their webs up when they've moved on. They are up in the corners of rooms, rather than the sort who run across the floor when you aren't expecting it! Woodlice seem to live for about 30 seconds so I am forever hoovering up expired ones.
