It’s brilliant right? Just rewatching it and I think the acting is amazing! And the scripts, the timing, everything.

Yes, I love it too.

Still funny and really hasn't aged that badly considering its over 20 years old.

Tigresswoods · 03/05/2019 22:33

Hasn't aged that badly!!??! Confused

BarbarAnna · 03/05/2019 22:45

I don’t think it has aged badly at all! Obviously things like mobile phones give it away, but otherwise I think it survives really well.

Yip. Been watching a lot again lately and loving it all over again Grin

HoustonBess · 03/05/2019 23:03

Hated it in the 90s, hate it even more now

FiremanKing · 03/05/2019 23:11

Absolute drivel! Vanity scripts, ham acting and the same shit, different episode!

Boobahs · 03/05/2019 23:13

What a coincidence, I just read this online earlier.

Friends creator says she would change the jokes about Chandler's dad

My user name should tell you that I love it! Always have, always will.

GunpowderGelatine · 03/05/2019 23:30

It's aged terribly but I could still binge watch it!

pazwaz70 · 03/05/2019 23:30

It's my go to when I need cheering up, I absolutely love it. Did back then & I still do.

GunpowderGelatine · 03/05/2019 23:31

Chandler's dad was quite modern though - identified as a man, but wore dresses. They call it binary code these days or something WinkGrin

64sNewName · 03/05/2019 23:31

I thought it would hold up better than it has actually - I watched a few episodes with dd and it really reminded me that the nineties were a long time ago.

LucilleBluth · 03/05/2019 23:31

It more than holds up. I know that Ross gets some stick for being a creep but Davis Schwimmer makes me laugh more now than he did in the day. I love Ross.

mouldyhousemouldylife · 04/05/2019 00:15

I love Friends so much! Phoebe is hilarious.

DrBuckles · 04/05/2019 00:19

It’s just easy to watch.

This week I saw the one where Ross takes the call from Emily on the balcony and Joey is doing the sad/happy face to the window to see if the others could tell- that bit still makes me laugh out loud.

ineedaholidaynow · 04/05/2019 00:19

Now it is on Channel 5 I think a whole new generation is getting into it, DS loves it

AntiHop · 04/05/2019 00:24

I was just watching it this evening. It's so comforting to watch. Enjoyable and stress free.

OutOntheTilez · 04/05/2019 01:27

It is brilliant, yes. Friends will always be one of my favorite TV shows.

I've shown some of my favorite Friends scenes to my 14-year-old son via YouTube, and now he wants to watch it from the beginning. Our local library has all the seasons.

There's another thread circulating on MN stating that Frasier was better than Friends. As I'd posted there, I can't compare them. They are two completely different TV shows. I love them both.

DeadWife · 04/05/2019 07:52

Never understood the appeal. And that was when channels were limited so I did try (!)

IWantMyHatBack · 04/05/2019 07:56

@OutOntheTilez
Its all on Netflix too Grin

AmethystRaven · 04/05/2019 08:02

Agree about Ross, he had best episodes. The teeth, the fake tan, the leather trousers, the 'pivot' sofa... Grin

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 04/05/2019 08:05

I loved it when I first watched it in the 90s and for a long time it was my comfort watch. Some of it has aged very badly, though. I find all the references to porn a bit grim.

Some of it is still wonderful, though. The One Where No-one's Ready is brilliant TV.

BarbarAnna · 04/05/2019 13:41

It just surprises me as I was always a fan of the first series but wasn’t too bothered with some of the later ones, and was never a fanatic.

I have been a bit wowed by all their acting but I think Jennifer Anniston is really brilliant in it.

Love it.

I loved it at the time and I’m currently rewatching the entire series on Netflix and really enjoying it.

Its an incredibly relaxing series to binge-watch, with the bonus of now making me feel really nostalgic for the 90s.

There are some jokes that haven’t aged well - I cringe at the frequent references to porn and ‘naked chicks’ - but on the whole, it’s still very funny. Phoebe is fantastic ❤️

Bravelurker · 04/05/2019 15:00

Also love the Ross episodes, the ones already mentioned, leather pants paste, the tanning booth etc. But the one where he is dressed as the holiday armidilo - the floppy tail is hilarious and the one where he turns up with the same top as his date omg.

I sometimes wish I could go back to simpler times and not learn what a tool he was.
